story printed on reverse:

Spider flowers glow in the morning dew

In the South, morning fog was often so heavy that it moistened everything. While crossing a field of dead, but tall, wet grass, I saw these small glowing shapes. Normally I would have missed them, but the dew was so heavy that it accentuated the multitude of spider web clusters. There was just enough light cutting through the fog and reflecting through the tiny droplets clinging to the spiders' flower-like webs to make them glow. The fields were, indeed, alive amongst the dead grasses.
