Hiking context including Mileage, States, Dates, and Elevation Profile are letterpress printed on reverse of the print, as well as this inspiration story:
Families of ferns wave to each other across the trail: Along the forest floor, patches of ferns were so expansive that they dominated my view of the understory, appearing infinite. The varying green shades indicated different fern species as if they were immediate families huddled together at a big family reunion. I could identify at least eight different species of ferns along the trail, my favorite being the round Maidenhair Fern. As the wind blew, the sway of the patches appeared as if each fern was waving in greeting to each other and to me as I passed.
